Generate complete UVM environments automatically from your RTL design in minutes
Quick Start Guide
leducatech.com · getting started with UVMTestBuilder
1. Workflow
- Create a new project, choosing the directory where it will be created.
- Click in Create. If the project already exists, you can overwrite it or give it a new name.
- Click in Select RTL Files and select the RTL files you want to verify, specifying the top module if there is more than one file.
- These files will automatically be copied into the RTL folder inside the created project
- Enter the author name and the company name
- Click in Run UVMTestBuilder.
Note: If the design has more than one clock domain, a dialog box will open when the RTL files are selected, asking you to assign each signal to its corresponding clock domain.
- If the process completes successfully, a message will indicate that all verification files have been generated inside the project's verif folder. del proyecto.
2. Generated project structure
Once generation is complete, three main folders are created inside the project:
| Folder | Contents |
| RTL folder | Input RTL files, copied when the project is created. |
| Verif | Complete UVM verification environment, organized into the subfolders described below. |
| Sim | Simulation scripts: compile.do and run.do. |
Subfolders inside Verif
The Verif folder contains the complete UVM verification environment, organized into the following subfolders:
| Subfolder | Generated files |
| /agent | agent.sv, driver.sv, monitor.sv, sequencer.sv, sequence_item.sv, agent_pkg.svh |
| /env | env.sv, env_pkg.svh, scoreboard.sv, coverage.sv |
| /ref_model | ref_model.sv, ref_model_pkg.svh |
| /tb | tb_top.sv, interface.sv |
| /tests | basic_test.sv, test_lib.svh |
| /seqs | sequence_lib.svh, basic_seq.sv |
| /common | param_pkg.sv, tb_param_pkg.sv |
3. Next steps
Once the environment has been generated, open the project in QuestaSim using the compile.do script to compile, and run.do {UVMTest_name} script to simulate from the Sim folder.
